Bed Tray – Have Breakfast In Bed

I know that most of us don’t even have time to have breakfast, what about breakfast in bed. But today I want all of us to take a minute and relax. Think about all the days of the week you are running errands and have not even a second to spare – need to be on time to leave the kids at school and then go to work, go to all after-school or after-work activities (sports, dancing, meeting friends, etc.), prepare everyone for bed and then there is no time to relax at all.

That is why I want you all to think how and when you can find some time – 15 minutes is enough and enjoy that time. Let’s start the day this Sunday by having a breakfast in bed!

BED TRAY PRODUCT REVIEW – PROs AND CONs

I remember when we had our first bed tray in my house. It was a small gift from one of my best friends for our wedding, a joke to make us feel nice.

At first, I thought it is impractical to use a bed tray in bed, especially because I am a clean freak – everything should be in their spot and no crumbs except on the kitchen table. But then I realised that it could be quite relaxing and we could enjoy the lazy Sunday mornings, when we are never in a hurry to get up and have nothing to do too soon.

The first time I served breakfast in bed using the bed tray I made the effort and put yummy thick pancakes and arranged some fruit on the plates. I think both my husband and I felt better after having delicious breakfast in bed, reading the paper peacefully and watching some TV. The day started perfectly and we had time to enjoy the rest of the day.

Of course, after having our first child it was more difficult to commit to having breakfast in bed. Not only, you are so tired, but you don’t have the time to do nothing – the child gets up much earlier than you, they need to go to the toilet, they need breakfast, they need to go to the toilet again, they want to go outside, etc.

But, having a child might be a plus also – when it is the right day of the year (Mother’s Day or Father’s Day), they would make the effort to plate something yummy and would even bring it for you in bed. It would still be maybe too early for you to be able to enjoy it properly, but at least you will have your breakfast with the people you love the most in the world. That is my reality!

I think having a bed tray might be a nice way to find how to relax and de-stress from the busy week you had.

PROs:

  • easy to use – just unfold it

  • easy to clean and easy to store

  • do not need special training to be able to use it

  • makes breakfasts special – having your meal while still in your warm bed

CONs:

  • you may not find the time to use it

  • kids still need some supervision while using it, especially when serving hot drinks

  • too many people might want to use it at the same time, but space on the bed tray is limited

  • limits the movements you can make while the bed tray is on the bed

MAKE SUNDAY BREAKFASTS RELAXED AND ENJOY YOUR DAY

I would suggest, if you want to fully appreciate the bed tray, to star using it on Sunday, every Sunday 🙂

Most of us are free on Sunday, that is the day we tend not to do too much and have more time to enjoy different things. That is why I think that day would be the best to start experiencing the positives the bed tray will bring.

I know that when you had your breakfast in a relaxed way, not running around the kitchen and drinking your morning coffee in peace, that would make the whole day nice for everybody.

I would even suggest you include your kids in the breakfast in bed adventure – either by sharing the breakfast with them (pick something not too messy, like porridge) or ask them if they would like to prepare the breakfast the next morning (ask them for toast, butter and jam, just to be safe while they are using the kitchen equipment by themselves). I think they would love the idea and might even eat their breakfast without any complaints.

My verdict: Everyone will like it if you are relaxed, so find some time to enjoy breakfast in bed

Having breakfast in bed may sound like a scene from a movie, but believe me – it is not so difficult to make and I am sure everyone will enjoy it. Finding some time to relieve yourselves from the stress of the working week is very important, both for your physical and mental health. That is why I suggest a very easy way how to do it – have your favourite breakfast in bed with the people you love and just enjoy it, without thinking what you need to do next.

I would recommend having a bed tray to anyone who needs some time off, to anyone who has kids to make it easier for them to surprise you during the holidays, to anyone who wants to spend some quality time with their other halves, to anyone wanting to just be lazy in the morning.

I think this bed tray is a good choice to do something nice for yourselves, just use it as often as you want or can.
