Cake For Main Meal Anyone? Enjoy

I like making cakes for dessert. But I like having (savoury) cakes for main meals as well.

Today, I want to show you one very easy recipe I saw in a magazine* how to make a savoury cake you can serve for dinner, as a special day meal or just to enjoy it this weekend.

This cake doesn’t need much work – you only have to mix and stir some ingredients or cut other, but that’s it. The main efforts will go into stacking the cake and making it look beautiful.

Make it a family time, involve the other members of the family in the preparation – to give suggestions what tastes they want, to help arrange the ingredients and then enjoy it together.

Hope you give it a try!

Savoury Cake

  • 5-6 mini tortilla

  • 150gr plain yoghurt

  • 100gr mayonnaise

  • 1tsp granulated garlic

  • 1-2tsp dry dill

  • 2 tomatoes, sliced

  • 100gr pepperoni

  • 70 black and green olives

  • 2-3 roasted red peppers

  • 5 cheddar cheese slices

  • 5 ham slices

  • 50-70gr grated cheddar cheese

  • 100gr feta cheese, crumbled

  • 2-3 spring onions, cut in small

  • 1 can sweetcorn

  1. Make the sauce – mix the yoghurt with the mayonnaise, season with garlic and dill

  2. In a serving plate, place one tortilla and spread some of the sauce. Add ham and cheese slices

  3. Place another tortilla, spread some of the sauce and arrange tomatoes and olives

  4. Another tortilla, top with the cheeses – grated cheddar and feta

  5. Another tortilla, spread some of the sauce, arrange the pepperoni and roasted peppers

  6. Top with another tortilla, spread the rest of the sauce on top and cover the sides

  7. Make the savoury cake beautiful with some drained sweetcorn and spring onions

Serve and enjoy!
