I like anything involving the use of pastry, especially when the pastry is filled with something delicious. I like both sweet and savoury filling, I just love when the meal comes in one – just ready to bite into it.
Today I am presenting one very easy to make, quick recipe how to prepare warm breakfast, filling and satiating, very suitable for those cold mornings, during the week or better during the weekend – Cheesy Pastry.
I’ve made this recipe using only cheddar cheese, but you can use feta cheese as well, or make a filling by mixing yoghurt and eggs with the cheese.
I made this recipe with puff pastry, because I think it is really delicious, it is easy to work with and it takes no time to bake.
Try this recipe yourself or try with different filling.
Ingredients (4 servings):
1 pack ready-to-roll puff pastry
100gr cheddar cheese, grated
1-2tbsp milk, to brush the pastry
Roll out the puff pastry, make a thin layer
Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top and roll, make a roulade
Twist it and form a circle, brush with milk
You can make one big circle or prepare several individual cheesy pastries
Bake at 200°C for 30 minutes or until the pastry gets golden in colour
I served it warm with flavoured milk, yumm!
