Do You Feel Guilty When Eating Something Sweet? Don’t, Just Enjoy This Healthy Summer Treat

Do you miss the summer in those cold and short winter days?

One of the things I love about summer time, when weather is usually hot and sunny, is the enjoyable treat of having some ice-cream.

Today, I am presenting to you a very easy and, I hope, healthy recipe to prepare ice-cream in no time at all and enjoy with your loved ones in the warmth of your home.

My little one doesn’t like eating fruit, but he loves ice-cream. Making this easy cheat ice-cream, using only fruit, allows me to give him fruit without him thinking that he should eat as it is healthy for him, but because it is delicious.

This ice-cream can be served on its own or together with your favourite cake.

Healthy Fruity Ice-Cream image

  • frozen fruit, any

I usually use frozen bananas (sliced in rings and frozen), berries, pears.

  • yoghurt

  • honey

  • ice-cream decorations – whipped cream, glace cherries, chocolate curls, hundred and thousands sprinkles

Note that I don’t give specific amounts, because it all depends on your personal taste and desire how much to make 🙂


Banana ice-cream:

  1. Just blend the frozen banana pieces, put in a cup and decorate

Other fruit ice-cream:

  1. Blend the frozen fruit in the kitchen blender, add some yoghurt and blend again

How much yoghurt you use depends on how much fruit you blended, how runny you want your ice-cream and how much you like yoghurt.

I usually put about 300gr yoghurt when I use about 500gr frozen fruit

  1. Add some yoghurt for sweetness, put in an ice-cream cup, decorate

    Cool recipe. I kinda watch my weight but I really have a weakness for treats like icecream. We usually buy frozen yogourt at home because it has less fat than normal ice cream. If I don’t watch myself I can keep on digging in the box (: but anyway…

    I was wondering here what kind of yogourt were you using to do that recipe. Is it a light one.

      Hi, I also try to serve healthy treats to my little ones :-

      I use the usual fat-free fruit yoghurt or fromage frais. They are very delicious and we eat them regularly, every day.

      The frozen yoghurt is yummy, I like it better than ice-cream, but if you want something more healthy try this home-made recipe and make it like you like it.

    This is an interesting idea, indeed. For some reason, it’s important to kids that the food is in the right shape, has the right color, and is properly textured. Way to be creative. I like your style. Your use of the phrase “ice-cream decorations” made me chuckle. However, this is something that I may need to try for my child. A honey and yogurt mixture actually sounds rather enticing. Thanks for the idea.

      I need to be creative so that to make my little one have some fruit from time to time. And, because I am a woman and always look what I am eating :-), I prefer to serve not a store-bought ice-cream, but fruity one made easy by freezing our favourite fruit.
