Marinated Feta Cheese – Spice Up Your Summer

During the hot summer months I don’t like to prepare meals that are too heavy or too greasy. My family really would prefer light meals, even sometimes just nibbles, various things in small portions to go together with vegetable dippers and dips.

Today I am presenting a recipe that you can make any time of the year, it is very easy and is extremely delicious – marinated feta cheese.

When preparing this appetizer you can use different condiments and add other things that would flavour the cheese, like sun-dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, chilli, olives, etc. I’ve used simple seasoning so that my kids to like the cheese as well as they are not usually big fans of strong flavours.

I sometimes do similar marinate for olives, another appetizer you can prepare easily and quickly.

Hope you like it.

Marinated Feta Cheese Cubes

  • 200gr feta cheese, cut in cubes

  • ½ tsp each – paprika, parsley, dill

  • black pepper

  • 10-15 black olives, cut in rings

  • 2 garlic cloves, cut in small pieces

  • olive oil, enough to cover the cheese cubes in the jar

  1. In a jar or container, large enough to contain all the feta cubes, put the cheese and olives

  2. Add the garlic and seasoning, pour the olive oil

  3. Close the jar/container and turn it a few times to spread the seasoning all over

  4. Put in the fridge and you can use after a couple of hours or in the next days

Serve the feta cheese as an appetizer, add to your salad or roasted vegetables side-dish. Use the marinated olive oil to dress salads or to flavour meals.

Do you like preparing appetizers or you prefer not to bother with this?
