Mozzarella Sticks In The Oven – Appetizer or Side Dish

I love cheese, any type of cheese. And I prefer not to fry the food I am serving. That is not only because I want to eat healthy, but also because sometimes I am just too tired or lazy to fry and then clean all the mess (dishes and cooker).

Today I am presenting a recipe how to make yummy mozzarella sticks in the oven that would melt in your mouth. Use them as an appetizer to prepare the people around the table what the next dish might be (maybe you are serving a theme-inspired dinner) or use them as a side dish to complement another vegetable or cheese dish.

This recipe is super easy, doesn’t need any preparation, doesn’t need much time and you get delicious, soft, creamy, cheesy, mozzarella sticks.

Enjoy them while they are hot!

Mozzarella Sticks in the Oven 


  • 200gr mozzarella, drained and cut in sticks

  • ½ cup flour

  • 1 egg

  • ½–1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs

  • 4-5tbsp grated parmesan


  1. Put the mozzarella sticks in the freezer for 20 minutes to harden them and be easier to prepare them

  2. Remove from the freezer, coat with flour (shake the excess), dip in the beaten egg and roll in the breadcrumbs mixed with the parmesan until fully covered

  3. Freeze again for 20 minutes

  4. Arrange the mozzarella sticks in a baking tray covered with grease-proof paper

  5. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until golden in colour in the oven at 180-200°C

Serve them immediately. Be careful, they are still hot!
