I think Sundays should be as lazy as possible – do only the things you like and eat delicious meals made easily and quickly.
Today I am presenting the recipe I did this Sunday – easy puff pastry croissants. The recipe is very easy to make, you will need only a few minutes to make these pastry rolls, you can make them sweet and/or savoury to suit everyone’s preferences. Not only that, but these puff pastry croissants are suitable for the whole family, for the grown-ups and for the little ones.
From the puff pastry, I made croissants with different fillings – sweet: jam, chocolate and savoury: cheese. All of them were equally delicious so it was difficult to decide which one you would like to have next, but my favourite ones were those with the filling of chocolate and of cheese.
Try them yourselves.
Puff Pastry Croissants
1 packet ready rolled puff pastry, about 300gr – defrosted, but cold from the fridge
fillings: jam, chocolate, grated cheese
You can use different fillings as well – peanut butter, turkish delight, halva, etc.
1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Unroll the puff pastry and cut in triangles, big enough for you to be able to put some of the filling
Bigger triangles will make bigger croissants, smaller will make smaller ones.
Put some of the filling in the wide part of the triangles, roll them
Line a baking tray with grease-proof paper and arrange the already rolled croissants with your preferred filling
Egg wash the croissants and bake in the oven at 180-200°C for 25 minutes or until nicely golden in colour
Serve hot or cold with your favourite Sunday morning drinks. We had them with chocolate milk and orange juice.
It’s an easy breakfast that everyone can make for the people they love, with very little effort and in no time. I hope you like it as much as my family did on the lazy Sunday morning we had those yummy croissants.
