Whole Chicken Roasted On A Beer Can – Easy Yummy Sunday Roast

I like preparing the Sunday roast, especially now when the children are older (not babies any more) and they enjoy more dishes.

You know my favourite meat is chicken and that is why today I am presenting a recipe I very often prepare and my family enjoys – roasted whole chicken on a beer can.

For the first time I heard about that you can roast chicken on a beer can many years ago, but it took me a good few years to try such a recipe.

I should say that since I tried roasting a whole chicken on a beer can, this is one of my most preferred ways to cook this meat. It is very easy to make, the chicken is moist and really delicious, the oven is clean.

You can use a beer bottle, instead of a beer can, when preparing the chicken like it is according to the original recipes. I use beer cans, because the beer I buy for cooking comes in cans, not in bottles. The results you’ll get are the same – mouth-watering roasted meat you can enjoy with the people you love.

Whole Chicken Roasted on a Beer Can

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken (about 1,3kg), washed and ready to cook

  • 1 beer can

  • salt and pepper

  • 3-4tbsp BBQ sauce

  • 2-3tbsp soy sauce

Preparation:

  1. In a saucepan put ½ of the beer, BBQ and soy sauce and boil until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Take off the hot-plate for when needed

  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper
  3. In a roasting tray put/thread the chicken on the beer can, with the rest of the beer still in it. Bake in the oven at 200°C for 1 hour

  4. When the chicken is ready, coat it with the beer-BBQ sauce and roast for another 10-15 minutes

Now you have a deliciously roasted chicken. Serve with your favourite side dishes – I usually prepare different salads and/or potato dishes.
